Memorial Day weekend and the Indy 500 brought us back to Indianapolis to visit Gillians family. Although the 500 is not on my list of things I have to do in this lifetime, it certainly turned out to be everything I had imagined and much more. We drank at ate more than our fair share of 16 oz. Miller Lites and turkey legs at the track and I realized that 80 degrees in Indianapolis is more like 100 degrees in Orange County when you factor in the humidity.
Mr. Poe was nice enough to let me cut the grass in the sit-down lawn mower (a childhood dream of mine) and Mrs. Poe can be seen in the pics below attempting to strangle me with a form of artwork in downtown Indy (now I know where Gil gets it). Dan and Caitlin proved to be fierce competitors in backyard badminton and Gil is still attempting to determine the physics behind her getting the birdie stuck is the mallet each and every hit.
Thanks to the Poe family for inviting me into your home and hopefully we will see you all soon!
